
Claudette Colbert doesn’t know how she developed her famous chuckle, but admits the joyously infectious chortle is part of the Colbert identity. “All I know,” she says, “is that I love to laugh. Laughter and gaiety are the most important things in human relationship.”

Claudette Colbert is heading toward Broadway after an absence of 10 years. The 68-year-old actress is touring in Jerome Chodorov’s new comedy, A Community of Two.
